Adding to a Source Case

Adding to (or appending) a case with a new variable involves a three step process:

     1. Inputting the basic information on the variable (ID, brief description, additonal details).

     2. Identifying the variables that influence the new one.

     3. Identifying the variables that are influenced by the new one.

 

For example, suppose in the chart below (as represetative of the source case), you had not entered DCOLNGO (Donations Collected: Charity Organizations) yet. You would:

     1. Enter that description, say with the added information that an example charity would be the Red Cross.

     2. Input the inlfuencers DISMAGN, UNDERDV, DONRFTG, and DONAGOV.

     3. Input the influenced (SCRUTNY).

 

Note: DCOLNGO also must be recorded as an influenced variable for each of the four influencers and as an influencer for SCRUTNY.
