Guidelines for Creating a New Source Case

  1. Give serious thought to the short source case name because it is very cumbersome to change afterwards.
  2. Set up a wiki for the source case by going to http://pbwiki.com (it will not cost anything unless a premium service is chosen). Select the "Education" context wiki and use your case name for the wiki name. 
  3. Start the Freedom of Government Information source case wiki.
  4. Copy the FrontPage and paste it into your FrontPage.
  5. Create New Pages for all of the specific case-related "informational" pages listed on your FrontPage (including the SideBar) but not including the last two subjects under "Possible Actions to Take" as well as the "Using COMPASS" and "Basic Template for a Variable" in the SideBar (these four links are the same in any wiki).
  6. Copy and paste the corresponding pages from the "Freedom of Government Information" wiki.
  7. Make needed changes in the information and the links.
  8. Add a page for each of your variables. Use the format from the Template for a Variable.
  9. Come back to this PAGenome-COMPASS wiki and add a page, using the Source Case Template, summarizing your case. (Note: you may have to e-mail the person listed as administrator for this wiki to get the password so as to be able to make changes).
  10. Breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to other people using your source case beneficially.
