Searching COMPASS: An Example
A search of COMPASS can yield possible strategies and impacts therefrom, under various external conditions.
A search is a two step process:
1. Finding an appropriate source case.
2. Finding an appropriate variable within that source case.
As an example, suppose you were a government emergency manager and were interested in connecting charities and government during natural disasters. A search in this (pagenome-compass) wiki on the word (stem) "charit" would turn up a match on the "Managing Government Donations" case summary. A link would then be made to that case's wiki (as represented by the diagram below). A subsequent search of that wiki for the word (stem) "charit" would lead to several variables, among which is "DCOLNGO" (Donations Collected: Charity Organizations).
A possible (highly simplified) strategy to increase such donations is to give them through your agency (DONAGOV). The amounts given will be affected by the external condition of donor (government) fatigue (DONRFTG). In any case, the use of government funds will probably lead to the impact of increased scrutiny (SCRUTNY).
